PASTOR, HEAD OF STAFF (HoS)

OVERVIEW

Southminster Presbyterian Church is prayerfully seeking a Pastor, Head of Staff who serves as disciple, shepherd, teacher, and leader. This position is central to guiding the spiritual, relational, and organizational life of our congregation as we pursue faithful discipleship and mission within our community.

ACCOUNTABILITY

The pastor, called primarily to the Word and sacrament, will be the senior member of the church staff, responsible to Southminster Presbyterian Church and to Texas ECO Presbytery.

The role and responsibilities of the pastor may be further refined from time to time as indicated by the needs of the church and by the mutual agreement of the pastor and the Session, so long as such agreement does not conflict with the provisions of the ECO Confessional Standards or the provisions of the terms of call.

CHURCH SECRETARY

Southminster Presbyterian Church is seeking a part-time Church Secretary to serve as the administrative heart of our ministry. This position includes paid vacation days and sick leave. Daily working hours will be determined upon hire.

Our ideal candidate is friendly, organized, comfortable in a ministry environment, and eager to get to know the people and rhythms of our church family. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Answering phones and emails

  • Serving as the first point of contact during weekday office hours

  • Assisting in building and maintaining our church database

  • Updating church records and information

  • Light website and newsletter editing

  • Creating the weekly worship slide deck
